Section 3. Development, Preservation, and Management of Library Collections

(traditional and electronic resources, digital collections, repositories, and preservation of cultural heritage in the era of artificial intelligence and digital transformation)

The section is dedicated to modern approaches to the development, management, and preservation of library collections in the context of digital transformation and the advancement of artificial intelligence. University libraries are increasingly combining traditional print collections with electronic resources, digital archives, institutional repositories, and research data, creating a new model of the knowledge environment.

Special attention is given to:

  • the development of hybrid library collections: print, electronic, and digital resources;
  • the creation and maintenance of institutional repositories, open access archives, and research data collections;
  • the use of AI technologies for cataloguing, metadata creation, automated description, thematic analysis, and discovery of scholarly connections;
  • digital preservation of rare editions, manuscripts, university heritage, and cultural memory;
  • management of licensed electronic resources, subscriptions, and access to international scholarly databases;
  • ensuring long-term preservation of digital content and cybersecurity of library resources.

The section aims to discuss library collections as a strategic resource of the university, where the preservation of heritage is combined with innovative technologies for access, management, and open dissemination of knowledge.
